The action of the “quarantine with anubis” detective takes place in 2020 in a small Egyptian hotel on the banks of the Nile, in the city of Luxor. Expertilologist Victoria Bersenyev and her nephew Alexander accidentally get stuck here because of the Kovid epidemic began. Guests of the hotel from different countries would hardly have become good friends and in less dramatic circumstances. Now they are united not only by quarantine, but also by the mysterious corpse found in the hotel. Who is this person? Is his death connected with a trip to the excavations that the guests made on the eve of quarantine? And who in general in the 21st century will seriously talk about the “curse of the tomb” and the abduction of ancient Egyptian treasures? Such stories have repeatedly met everyone in literature and cinema. Although, perhaps, this is the whole thing - in the literature of our thinking?
“In the novels of Tatyana Shakhmatova, the detective becomes the territory of the experiment, the search for not only the plot, but the current word to describe our modernity.”

“Here, the word hearing in time provides the dynamics of action, the language“ gives out with the head ”of the criminal, and literary allusions and reminiscences are delighted with stylistic delights. This eliminates the need to look for monsters and exploit the shock-strategy of the “bloody massacre” and attracts attention to other components of the artistic structure: the plot, language, style. As well as one of the basic human fears - to blame and be unraveled in their secret intents based on verbal “evidence”.
