The book of selected poems by Irina Mashinskaya includes texts from nine books. Collected for the first time in one volume, they provide insight into the evolution of the author's poetics in dialogue with a changing world: from the musical, dense, always recognizable diction of the 1980s and 90s - to the more unexpected, conversational, naked diction of the early 2000s, and further - to the increasingly labored breathing of the poems of the last decade with its rarefied air and irreversibly changing sound. Geomorphology is the science of the earth's topography, its rhythm and deep history. The title of the book reflects the interest of Mashinskaya, a physical geographer by training, in the certainty and evolution of forms: landscape, poetry, human relations, speech.
